2.4.2.7. Create site copy on another domain or subdomain

  1. Add the target domain or subdomain in the "My sites" section (if not already added).
  2. In the site settings and PHP settings of the target site, set the settings the same as they are set for the source site.
  3. Using the file manager, clear the contents of the directory of the target site and copy all the contents of the source site's directory into it.
  4. Create a copy of the database:
    1. Create a new database.
    2. For the created database, run import via the control panel and select the database you want to copy as the source.
    1. Create a backup of the database.
    2. Download the created archive to your PC.
    3. Extract the archive and obtain the dump file in SQL format from it.
    4. Create a new database.
    5. Import the SQL dump file into the created database using any of the methods.
  5. Correct the connection settings to the database in the configuration file of the site copy. If the site uses absolute paths, correct them (for example, instruction for OpenCart).
  6. If the site is linked to a domain address, replace the old address with the new one and adjust the paths in the configuration files of the site copy and/or its database (instructions: WordPress, OpenCart, PrestaShop).
